Srebrna moneta kolekcjonerska o nominale 10 Euro, szósta, a zarazem ostatnia z serii "Opactwa i klasztory".

Urzekający, bogaty w detale i dopracowany w szczegółach projekt będący głównie efektem długiej tradycji menniczej.

Awers: widok opactwa Seckau z lotu ptaka, patrząc na zachód. W centrum znajduje się wielka romańska bazylika z dwoma wieżami otoczony przez potężne barokowe budynki klasztorne.

Rewers: spektakularny widok z nawy kościoła na ołtarz, nad którym widać scenę ukrzyżowania średniowiecznego zawieszoną na czterech masywnych łańcuchach. Gotyckie sklepienie zastępuje oryginalny drewniany dachowych po pożarze w roku 1259.

Opactwo Seckau w prowincji Styria istnieje od ponad 850 lat. Zostało ono założone w 1142 roku jako regularny zakon Augustynów w Styrii, aż do roku 1782, kiedy cesarz Józef II zniósł opactwa, a siedzibę biskupa przeniesiono do Grazu. Wiek później opactwo zostało zakupione przez mnichów benedyktynów z niemieckiego zakonu Beuron i życie zakonne zostało przywrócone w Seckau.

For more than 850 years the Abbey of Seckau has been a landmark in the province of Styria. Founded in 1142 as an abbey of Augustinian canons regular, it was soon made the bishop's seat for Styria and remained so until 1782 when Emperor Joseph II suppressed the abbey and moved the bishop's seat to Graz. A century later the site was purchased by Benedictine monks from the German abbey of Beuron and monastic life was restored to Seckau.

The obverse of the coin shows a bird.s eye view of the Abbey of Seckau looking west. The centre is the great Romanesque basilica with its two mighty towers surrounded by the Baroque monastic buildings.

The other side of the coin shows a view down the spectacular nave of the church to the high altar, over which a mediaeval crucifixion group hangs dramatically on four massive chains. The Gothic vaulting replaced the original wooden roofing after a fire in 1259.
