Księżycowy
Najstarsze
chronologicznie zapisy dotyczące historii starożytnego
chińskiego kalendarza księżycowego sięgają ponad 2600 lat przed naszą
erą. Wówczas na
podstawie wyglądu księżyca w
12-letnim cyklu księżycowym kojarzono każdy rok z
poszczególnym zwierzęciem.
Tradycyjnie,
pierwszym rokiem księżycowym cyklu "rządzą"
myszy.
Według legendy, kolejność zwierząt w astrologii chińskiej została
określona w wyniku ich wyścigu przez rzekę. Myszka ukryła się na
plecach nieświadomego tego faktu pędzącego wołu, skacząc i zwyciężając
w ostatniej sekundzie.
Tygrys,
królik, smok, wąż, koń, koza, małpa, kogut, pies i świnia
były na
suchym lądzie dopiero następne po bystrej i szybkiej myszy
oraz
zdumionym wole.
Według
chińskiej kultury każde zwierzę ma wpływ na
osobowość ludzi urodzonych pod "rządami" danego zwierzęcia.

CHINESE CALENDAR series
The
“Chinese Calendar” is a series of silver collector
coins issued by Niue Island, dedicated to the way the Chinese have
defined their years.
The calendar
consists of 60-year cycles which are made up of a combination of 12
years: Earthly Branches represented by 12 animals and five Heavenly
Stems represented by the Five Elements: water, earth, wood, fire and
metal - ying and yang in each version.
The 12-year
cycle repeats itself fi ve times because each time the year of any
given animal appears under the sign of another element.
The Chinese
calendar features the following years: year of the pig, rat, ox, tiger,
rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep (goat), dog, monkey and the
rooster.
Each coin of
the series also has its equivalent for children.

The upcoming year 2012 will be celebrating as Chinese Year of the
Dragon. On this occasion the Mint of Poland is releasing two silver
collector coins in a limited mintage of 6000 pcs.
The “Chinese Calendar” is a series of silver
collector coins which every year presents one of 12 animals that in the
following year will patronize the Chinese Zodiac:
- pig, rat, ox, tiger, rabbit,, dragon, snake, horse, sheep,
dog, monkey, rooster.
The 12-year cycle repeats itself five times because each time the year
of the given animal appears under the sign of another element:
- water, earth,
wood, fire and metal.
People born in
the Year of the Dragon are
innovative, enterprising, self-assured, brave, passionate and full of
energy. They prefer enjoying outdoor activities rather than staying at
home.
Dragon people work hard, but being born leaders, they would rather give
orders than receive them, therefore they should avoid jobs that involve
too much routine and should opt for the jobs in which their
